The 37th parallel north is a latitude that marks the halfway point between the North Pole and the equator. It’s also been called the “golden circle of latitude” because it falls within zones with some of the world’s most fertile soil and richest resources. The 37th parallel is also important from a geopolitical standpoint, as it divides North and South Korea and North and South Vietnam.
